An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Yorkshire and northern regions of England as a Clinical Research Nurse to join a growing research and clinical services provider in primary care. Optimum Patient Care (OPC) is social enterprise supporting general practices across the UK to manage their respiratory and chronic disease patients. We also specialise in conducting research in real life setting in primary care.
As the clinical research nurse, you will be responsible for supporting recruitment of GP practices and patients into research studies and our respiratory review service, liaising with GP practices to arrange study clinics, conducting study clinics and respiratory review clinics. You will also be involved in the design of studies by offering practical clinical feedback.
This role requires sound clinical knowledge, experience of patient care and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience in respiratory care in asthma and COPD is desirable. The post offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who either wish to build on their existing experience in clinical research or want to develop a career in research and respiratory health. The ideal candidate will be willing to travel to practices, be dedicated, work well within a team, have good problem solving skills and show drive and initiative.
This is a full-time post although we will consider a part time position for the right candidate. An immediate start is available and preferred. The salary is negotiable and dependent on the level of experience but a starting salary in the region of £25, 000-30, 000 is envisaged (equivalent to RCN Band 5-6).
The essential skills and experience the successful candidate will have are:
• An undergraduate degree in nursing or professional qualification in nursing
• A full UK drivers licence, use of own car and willingness to travel to GP practices
• Basic computing skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
• Some experience in use of clinical data entry systems
The following skills and experience are desirable:
• Good Clinical Practice training
• Prior clinical trials experience (1-2 years)
• Experience in asthma and COPD patient care
• Experience of working in primary care setting
